Joe Rothenberg

Joe Rothenberg has more than 60 years of space systems executive management, engineering and operations experience, including the last 23 years in the commercial “new” space industry.

At NASA, Joe held human and scientific space flight institutional and program leadership positions, including Associate Administrator for Space Flight and Director of Goddard Space Flight Center. He is also widely recognized for leading NASA’s 1st Serving Mission for the Hubble Space Telescope that corrected the primary mirror’s flawed optics.

Joe is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Paragon Space Development Corporation. He is recognized for playing key executive and technical roles in the growth and sale of Universal Space Network and Skybox Imaging, both of which were successful early commercial space era startups.

Joe hold a BS in Engineering Physics from CW Post College, an MS in Engineering Management, and several honorary PhDs. He has received numerous Senior Executive Service Presidential, NASA, National and International awards, and is a National Associate of the Academy of Science, National Research Council.
