Long-term car subscriptions.
Drover, before it was acquired, was a UK-based car subscription service that offered a flexible, all-inclusive alternative to traditional ownership. For a single monthly fee covering the vehicle, insurance, maintenance, tax, MOT, and breakdown cover, subscribers could choose from new or used cars supplied by third-party providers, with no long-term commitment and the ability to swap, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time.
The platform operated as a digital marketplace—Drover didn’t own cars directly—and delivered vehicles to customers’ doors within 72 hours, supporting subscription terms from one month up to two years. It raised funding from investors like Autotech Ventures, BP Ventures, Partech, and Target Global.
In 2020, Drover was acquired by Cazoo to accelerate its expansion into car subscriptions across the UK and Europe.
